Kickoff your summer with this weeklong celebration!
Today’s feature focuses on the 76th annual State Laurel Festival, held June 10th-18th. Begun as a weekend event in 1938 by Larry Woodin, the festival has grown into a weeklong celebration that kicks off the summer.
It all starts with Family Day & The Children’s Health Fair, which will take place on Saturday, June 10th, provide opportunities for us to spend time with our family and friends, while showing us fun ways to stay healthy together. The community will gather on the Green for FREE games, music, giveaways, and healthy snacks. This even will take place from 10:00am to 1:00pm.
Then on Sunday, families and their furry friends will march down Main Street in Wellsboro for the Pet Parade. Dogs, cats, goats, llamas – your animal companions are welcome to join you in the costumed procession, beginning at Packer Park and ending at The Green. Judging of pet and people costumes will occur at 12:30pm.
Monday through Thursday will fill the air with beautiful music as the community enjoys the Laurel Concert series. Megan McGarry will play at the Deane Center in Wellsboro on Monday, June 12 at 7:00pm. Drowsy Maggie will perform on Tuesday at 7:00pm.
