TIOGA, PA — The Albert S. and Mary Guiles Krieger Foundation has completed its 2018 annual distribution of grant funds, providing more than $76,000 to deserving local projects.
The Krieger Trust and Foundation was created in 2010 and is operated exclusively for religious, charitable, scientific, literary, environmental and educational purposes. The Foundation was created to serve the geographic areas of Lawrenceville Borough, Tioga Borough and the Townships of Lawrence, Tioga and Jackson, located within the County of Tioga, Pennsylvania. The assets of the Trust were made possible from the estate of Mr. Albert S. Krieger, who grew-up in Tioga, lived in Lawrenceville, serving there as Mayor and Borough Councilman. He was a veteran of WWII and was involved with many Tioga County activities including the County Planning Commission, Borough’s Association and Historical Society. He operated a Lumber and Home Improvement business in Lawrence Township.
The following organizations were provided grants based on an application which must thoroughly explain how the requested funds will be used:

Endless Mountain Music Festival (in support of concert at the Williamson High School)
Jackson Center United Methodist Church
Lawrenceville Firemen’s Ambulance Association
Lawrenceville Fire Department
Millerton Back-Pack Program
Millerton Fire Department
Northern Tioga County Lion’s Club
R.B. Walter Elementary School (Back-Pack Program, Lego-Kit Project and provision of Soccer Goals)
St. Andrew’s Church in Tioga
Tioga Grange #1223 to upgrade their heating system
Wells-Jackson Lion’s Club
Williamson High School Leadership Academy
Williamson High School Robotics Program
Any applicant for grant funds must be recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a public charity with a 501(c)(3) Determination Letter in order for the Applicant to be considered by the Trustees. A copy of the applicant’s IRS Determination Letter, including Applicant’s charitable status must be attached to the Application. For capital projects the applicant must submit a minimum of two bids for any grant requests in excess of $1,000.
