Healthy Summer Fun and Competition
Wellsboro Summer Swim Team is a community program sponsored by Wellsboro Parks and Recreation for youths ages five to eighteen. The swimmers who join the team are from many areas of Tioga County, not just the town of Wellsboro. The swim team’s mission is to keep our community youth active by offering some healthy summer fun and competition.
The Awaken Conference
A nearby youth event is trending rapidly. Set in the riding arena of scenic Fairview Farms and Guest Ranch, the ruckus is back this summer for round two. What is this can’t-miss event? The Awaken Youth Conference! Awaken is facilitated by Lighthouse of Faith youth leaders, Josh and Ashley Shedden. The one-day conference boasts an impressive and compelling line up of relevant musicians and speakers. To learn more about this new yet dynamic conference, check out the website!

Creature Care: Introducing Dr. Shaw
Grand Canyon Veterinary Hospital offers the full services of a general practice veterinary hospital including surgery, vaccinations, wellness care, treatment for allergies and ear problems, a dog kennel, cat boarding, and more.

Dr. Shaw’s dream job began with a little white kitten that her family had growing up. The kitten was suffering from ear mites and had to be taken in to see the local veterinarian. The vet came and got Dr. Shaw and took her into the back of the hospital and let her look into the microscope to see the ear mites. Those moments changed Kristine’s life forever. She concluded that this had to be the greatest job in the world. Nothing has changed much. We hope you enjoy today’s special broadcast feature.

Floral exhibits, vegetables, fruits, baked goods, and canned goods need to be dropped off August 5th, from 12-5 pm. Needlecraft, handcrafts, painting, and photography need dropped off August 4th, 12-4 pm.
Emergency 101: Illegal Dumping
Today we get to take a different look at disaster preparedness by discussing efforts that are underway in Tioga County to better protect the environment, and prevent the dumping of illegal garbage and waste. What does illegal dumping have to do with preventing disasters?

As one of Tioga County’s most common threats, flooding can be sudden, expensive, and dangerous, but often times flooding actually can be preventable. More specifically, we can reduce the risk of flash flooding by eliminating the illegal dumping of trash and household hazardous waste onto riverbanks and into streams.
