Meet our very own Stacey Dondey today on Personal Profiles
“Honor thy father and mother,’ took on truer meaning once I became a parent and realized what a challenging and fulfilling role it is,” notes Stacey Dondey.
In today’s edition of Personal Profiles, Home Page’s Stacey Dondey looks back on her story thus far with a grateful heart to her parents for the love, support and guidance they provided.
“My mother is extremely capable and was always there cheering me on, making me feel I could do anything.” Linda Buzay encouraged Stacey at a young age to pursue her interests whether it was modeling, musical theater, attending weekend classes at the Art Institute of Chicago, traveling alone to Italy for study abroad, completing a BS degree in Apparel Design from Purdue University or starting a business.
“Mom managed a successful electrical contracting business from home while my father, a master electrician, managed the labor in the field day or night,” Stacey remembers proudly. Watching their partnership, integrity and entrepreneurial spirit was a shining example to her of what a compatible marriage combined with hard work can accomplish in America. Her father Hans Buzay, was an immigrant from Austria and his stories of growing up during WWII inspired Stacey to never give up, not take anything for granted, face your fears and go for it.

“It never once crossed my mind a woman couldn’t run a business, travel alone or move across country to be a fashion designer,” Stacey says of the impact her parent’s example had on her perspective. Stacey went on to study at the Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC and won the Fashion Group International Scholarship in 2004. During her nine years in NYC she has designed under numerous labels such a Victoria’s Secret PINK, Daisy Fuentes, Banana Republic, Hanes, Calvin Klein, and Macy’s. As a Preproduction Manager she travelled to Hong Kong to follow up with multiple sweater factories in Dongguan, China.
That Manhattan chapter of her life would soon change once she met her husband, Major Jordan Dondey, an infantry officer in the USMC. Watch today’s feature to hear the details of this meant-to-be match made at sea.
Eight years later the Dondey family now lives in Wellsboro, PA since 2015. While Jordan works at Shell Appalachia and attends USMC Command & Staff, Stacey is thankfully able to be home raising their children, four year old Jackson and two year old Brielle. “I feel truly blessed,” says Stacey of her parents, her loving marriage, incredible children, and the opportunity to use her talents at The Home Page Network.
